President William Ruto, together with several Cabinet Secretaries have made a series of appointments to the government spanning across key government agencies and departments.
Leading the appointments announced on Friday via a gazette notice, the Head of State reappointed Brown Ondego as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) for another three-year term.
Ondego, a former Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director, will now continue to offer his services to the nation, chairing the aviation regulator’s board for another three years.
Ondego is the father of Captain Saviamaria Aseyo Ondego, the pilot of flight KQ203/RAO001 that transported the remains of veteran Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga back to the country after he passed in India.

Further, the President also reappointed Emilio Mugo as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) for a further three-year term.
Ruto also reappointed Professor Raphael Munavu as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority, the agency overseeing the country’s flagship smart city project.
In the tourism sector, at the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), Francis Gichaba also secured another term as the Non-Executive Chairperson, as the government continues efforts to strengthen tourism marketing.
Similarly, Professor Julius Nyabundi was reappointed as the Chairperson of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) for a four-year term beginning March 13, this year.
At the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority, politician and former Nyatike MP Edick Omondi Anyanga was also reappointed as Chairperson of the board for a three-year term.
Elsewhere, Ruto also renewed the appointments of several members to the LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority board, including Anwar Oloitiptip, Shadrack Tulon, Abdikahiya Maalim, Nasra Ibrahim Ibren, and Jeremiah Apalia Lomari.
Still within the Executive, several Cabinet Secretaries also made a series of appointments and reappointments across several state agencies, with Treasury CS John Mbadi leading the appointments with a new disciplinary committee for the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
Mbadi appointed Christopher Mwangi Ahamed as the Chairperson, alongside Kivulli Francis Joseph Kithuka, Eunice Lumallas, Rachel Chebukati, and Koki Muli Grignon as members of the Disciplinary Committee of ICPAK, for a term of three years.
Meanwhile, his counterpart, Hassan Joho, reappointed several members to the board of the Kenya Maritime Authority and appointed Yahya Mohamed as a new member.
In the military sector, CS Soipan Tuya appointed Roline Kendi as Secretary of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Pension Appeals Committee.
Environment CS Deborah Barasa also reappointed Sophia Takaria Matura and John Muthusi Kimondiu to the NEMA board, while appointing Maj. (Rtd.) Wafula Asman Omari Mutacho and Lilian Apadet as new members.
CSs Julius Ogamba, Salim Mvurya, and Mutahi Kagwe also made a series of appointments to the Kenya Veterinary Board, the Youth Enterprise Development Fund, and several national polytechnics as part of the government’s ongoing effort to reconstitute leadership across key public institutions.
