KRA Issues 30-Day Ultimatum to Owners of Unclaimed Goods at Nairobi Inland Container Depot


The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has issued a 30-day ultimatum to individuals whose goods remain uncollected at the Inland Container Depot, Nairobi.

In a gazette notice dated March 13, the Chief Manager, Inland Container Depot, Nairobi, for the Commissioner of Customs and Border Control, Larry Liza, said that the authority will declare the unclaimed Items as abandoned if owners fail to clear them within the next month.

The goods will be sold through public auction between April 29 and May 4 through the authority’s ibid portal.

“The goods will be treated as abandoned and will be disposed of in accordance with the provisions of EACCMA 2004, including being sold by public auction on the 29th April, 2026, 30th April, 2026, and 4th May, 2026, through an online portal,” the notice said.

Interested buyers have been advised to view the goods on April 27-28 at their respective bonded facilities and warehouses. 

Among the items that are set to be auctioned include  Paper in reels, parts and accessories of motorcycles, medicines, plain paper (wood-free), garlic sauce, and peri peri.

Other items include accessories of fibre optic, STIHL machines, refined glycerine, high purity neutral potable ethanol optical line terminal, Manganese grade, used clothes, and HDPE drum.

STC 34 Pallets, 250 Reels of Unprinted Bopp Met, Clear Film 34 Pallets, equipment for steel plant, a BMW vehicle, pp machine-made carpets, Eswatini brown sugar, Hot press moulded non-insulated panel tank, drums castor oil and its fractions, pallets of unprinted self-adhesive, Hazelnut cream, and float glass, are also among items that will be auctioned.

The items are stored in various locations, including  Syokimau inland container depot, Chai Logistics Nairobi, Nairobi Inland Container terminal, Autoport, Compact FTZ, and ICDN.

In the same notice, the Fancy Friends Auctioneers said that they will auction Motor Vehicles that are lying at Bush Fixers Garage, which is located in Mombasa, in the next 30 days if owners fail to claim them. The vehicles include  Nissan Caravan, Nissan Pathfinder,  Land Rover  Freelander, and Nissan X-Trail.

Wamula Auctioneers’ services have also said that within the next 30 days, they will auction a  Toyota Mark, which is lying unclaimed at the S.K. Dhahabu Motor Yard, along the Northern bypass.

 In the next 30 days, Milestone Auctioneers said that it will also auction a  Toyota, which is lying at the premises of Dahlback Motors, Industrial Area, Nairobi.
